In April 1968, Professor Tatsuzo Fujii (now emeritus professor in Kyoto Pharmaceutical University) established the Department of Clinical Biochemistry, which is the base of the Department of Pathobiochemistry.
In April 1973, Professor Fujii moved to Kyoto Pharmaceutical University with the research associate Takashi Sato (now emeritus professor in Kyoto Pharmaceutical University), and Jun Okuda, the associate professor of the Department of Fermentation Chemistry at that time, promoted to the 2nd professor of the Department of Clinical Biochemistry.
In April 1994, Ichitomo Miwa, the associate professor at that time, promoted to a professor and established a new department, the Department of Pathobiochemistry. During this period, there were two related departments, the Department of Clinical Biochemistry (Professor Jun Okuda) and the Department of Pathobiochemistry (Professor Ichitomo Miwa). Professor Okuda and Professor Miwa are now emeritus professors of Meijo University.
In March 2002, Professor Okuda retired and the Department of Clinical Biochemistry was closed.
In April 2003, the assistant professorYukiyasu Toyoda(the present associate professor) and the research associate Tadao Taguchi (the present associate professor of the Department of Pharmaceutical Education, Research Center for Pharmaceutical Education) promoted to an associate professor and an assistant professor, respectively. In April 2005, The assistant professor Taguchi moved to the Research Center for Pharmaceutical Education.
In March 2012, Professor Miwa retired andShuhei Yamada, an associate professor from Hokkaido University, Graduate School of Life Science, became the 4th professor of this department (Department of Clinical Biochemistry/Pathobiochemistry) in April 2012.
In October 2013,Shuji Mizumotowas installed in the lab as a research associate from Hokkaido University, Graduate School of Life Science.
